Few days ago the remaster of Fahrenheit popped up on Amazon with Aspyr logos and penguins. Well, it seems that Aspyr is indeed behind the remaster and the Tux was put on there for a purpose. Behold, the next Aspyr Linux port is here!

This one surely was a big surprise. I don't think anyone could have expected this game to come out on Linux before the Amazon incident. I haven't played the original but I've only really heard good things about the game and the messages we've received from fans of the game since we reported the game popping up on Amazon have been full of excitement.

About (from https://www.fahrenheit-game.com/)

Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics and full controller support for all platforms, and is based on the uncut and uncensored international version of the game.

With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalementi, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.

How to get some free keys
Aspyr has once again generously given us some Steam keys to give out to you. And we have this tradition of making you do stuff to get those keys. Of course previously we've often asked for reasons why you love us and Aspyr but this time we'll be playing differently. Because we are dealing with a thriller game, I thought we could ask you a question that's related to the theme.

So, what is your favourite thriller story? It can be from a game, a movie or a book but we are excluding Fahrenheit from this one because it would be too easy an answer. Sorry, Fahrenheit fans! And if you are not a fan of thrillers, what has been the scariest moment in gaming for you? Bonus points for answering both! (Bonus points may or may not count towards your victory.) I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

Silence of the Lambs. saw that when I was quite young and ufff, what a thrill it was!

I can jump like crazy just playing half life... I'm the scary type.

Scariest for me would be playing the original Silent Hill alone, in the dark, with an empty apartment behind me. The ambient sound design in that game was AMAZING!

Thrillers, well...I can't really think of any that I've even watched. Does Pitch Black count?

My favorite thriller story is Dantec's "Les Racines du Mal" (The Roots of Evil), by far. The most mindblowing cyber-noir ever written, putting even Gibson to shame.
And as far as scary gaming moments go, I definitely had the hardest time with Thief 3's Shalebridge Cradle. I barely blinked while playing Amnesia and Penumbra, but the ambiance in the Cradle is unlike anything else.
Anyway, is Fahrenheit as borked as the reviews say? I've been wondering for a few years now.

Hello! There are tons of media that I consider to be my favorite thriller but if I have to pick one it would have to be At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft (of course). There are certain parts of that story where I was actually looking behind my back to see if something was there. I won't give anything away but when the explorers see the creature at the end I almost had to sit the book down. Great story, absolutely a must read.
As for scary games........I would have to say that Silent Hill scared me the most. At the beginning of the game when Harry is chasing after his daughter I thought I was going to lose it. Not only is the town creepy, not only is there creepy fog everywhere, and also there is blood splattered everywhere. Oh look there is a dead torn a part torso just laying there. Let's go a little farther. Hey here is a bright idea, let's follow the blood splatters into a dark ally that dead ends. When Harry is standing at the fence and the "dog" grabs him, I stood up, put the controller down, and went outside. It didn't help that it was crazy foggy that day. The game scared me so bad I couldn't pick it up for another week. Best horror game ever. Would play again 11/10

The french film 'Ils' (them) is one of my favourite thrillers. If you haven't seen it you should.

I try and steer clear of scary games because I can't handle them but probably my scariest moment in gaming was walking up to a mother and baby in the first Bioshock View video on youtube.com . It freaked me out enough to put the game down and leave it for a few weeks. I could only handle that game if i was playing on easiest settings.

no question about it. original Pang brothers (not US version, US version is a disgrace to original) "The Eye", alone, completely darkened room with big screen and really loud surround system. it was my sole experience of being happy someone interrupted me during the movie when phone rang.

that pause when answering the call probably saved me from having heart attack due to constant tension being added with every next moment of the movie. one thing about that movie was that partial blindness was done awesomely to the point where i was taping around for my glasses few times even though they were on my nose. so, i might've been affected a bit differently than people watching the movie and even more so when i realized that "no glasses, can't see, must go closer" reflex went into action and i suddenly ended up right in front of screen without even realizing i moved for about 5m forward

that's my only movie i didn't watch,... i survived it

I'm old school; a huge Hitchcock admirer. Rear Window, North by Northwest, Strangers on a Train, etc.

My favorite amongst those has got to be Vertigo, which is still stunning, and will certainly make you think afterwards. Besides, Kim Novak didn't wear a bra :D in her scenes...

After that, it's got to be North by Northwest; one of the most iconic scenes in all cinema is Cary Grant being chased by a biplane crop duster shooting at him, in broad daylight, in a cornfield, removing the kind of threat of some dark alley from which somebody really bad will pop out with a knife. Brilliant.

The first Silent Hill. All that fog .. and I'd start jumping IRL when I heard static.

Decades ago I remember Ecstatica was one scary experience. I always tried to escape those monsters in panic, because I was to lazy to master controls and fight them :) Thinking of going back to that town as an adult...
