Asylum a new horror game

By Jonah Libster - | Views: 15,743
Senscape, the people who brought Shivers to the PC world are doing a new expanded world of psychological horror : Asylum. This could be the greatest horror genre game available on Linux since Amnesia: The Dark Descent. But it needs our help. A Kickstarter campaign is going on now:

There is TONS of footage here and at their main site at http://www.senscape.net.

This one looks like a worthwhile project to get funded, and a major feather for cap of Linux gaming fans. The reward list is almost as impressive as the game. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

@hamish True, although I've seen projects from as little as 5k to as high as 1 million both succeed and fail. Given the quality of production, I'm guessing its what they need. The artwork and voice acting right now I'm guessing is their biggest expense right now (I could be wrong). At the moment their current rate of sales conversions puts its close if unchanged; almost on a knife's edge. Many others are doing a big push right now. Hopefully it will do.. Would like to see a more comfortable margin though. There are still around 1000 $15 discounted game downloads available out of 2000 but many got larger reward sets. Would be cool to see the discount downloads sell out.

Well, they're halfway there with less than half the time to go.  I agree, the project creator needs to do continuous promotion to meet the goal, but from what I've seen so far, he is doing so.

Probably the adventure gaming community is his best bet.  I must say, I'd love to see a spate of compelling first-person adventure games implemented on the Dagon engine, as I'm an inveterate adventure game fan :)

They are now up to $71K. with 2 weeks to go. This looks like it could happen. I'm particularly keen on seeing the engine get some new features.
