Batman: Arkham Knight for Linux & SteamOS cancelled

Posted by , / 16593 views
Considering how terrible the Windows PC release of Batman: Arkham Knight was/is I’m not really surprised. Hopefully we will get some of the other better ones.

This is what a developer posted on Steam:
QuoteWe are very sorry to confirm that Batman: Arkham Knight will no longer be coming to Mac and Linux. If you have pre-ordered Batman: Arkham Knight for Mac or Linux, please apply for a refund via Steam.

While I’m not surprised by the news, I am still saddened by it. The Windows PC release was truly terrible as has been detailed quite widely, and they still haven't managed to fully patch it up.

I guess we have to bug the publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment about it since publishers are usually the ones who have the actual say in what happens.

Sad news, but XCOM 2 on Friday, Dying Light Enhanced Edition & The Following DLC and Firewatch next week. All those games coming to Linux in the space of a week! Remember to check our Release Calendar to keep up with it all.

Try not to be too sad about it my little cherubs.

My thoughts exactly, Feral will live on and their name won't get tarnished by working on an already terrible game.

No!!! That was the Feral Interactive game that I was most interested in!!!

Would have been really salty about it...
But actually....
XCOM 2 and Dying Light are my highlights so I couldn't care less

Sad but unsurprising. I bought the boxed version, but never played it until them. Maybe it could be a collector later on

I was looking forward to it, but I played other Batman games on PS3 and I found the first one was great, and they progressively got worse. I feel I'm not missing much, and hopefully it means we'll be getting other, better games from Feral.

Perhaps this is why Mad Max suddenly popped back up?

Hmmm... I was just briefly looking for a new hardware because of the XCOM2 and number of decent new games coming to Linux and was going to buy one at the moment when Batman AK and Witcher 3 state is clarified. Now I see that Batman AK is not coming and nothing, literally nothing happened with Linux port of a Witcher 3 for almost a year. Now I'm pissed off.

Don't. They won't listen. A few days ago they announced, that the new Mortal Kombat won't be on PC at all. It's a terrible company really (also remember the Shadow of Mordor - Youtube thing?)

Instead we can give Feral and others the push to take on more project. We can vote with our wallet!

Sad thing, I just saw today, that Arkham Knight is 40% off on Steam...

As Oliver Queen would say (yay WB!): You have failed this city...
