Deep breaths commander, there's a new UFO sighting on the Feral Interactive port radar indicating a new Linux port is on the way.

Here's the new teaser:

Begin your wild guessing game. I literally don't have a clue, but then I never manage to guess them correctly. Although, honestly I try not to dig too far as when I do I end up thinking about all sorts of wild titles.

We've still got Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia yet to come from Feral, so another showing up is quite exciting news. They've ported so many top quality games to Linux now, it's really quite incredible and it's pleasing to see this continue!

Am I missing something? That's just Paradise Lost, we knew that already.

I still don't see the connection from Paradise Lost to Dark Souls.

Don't know if that could be the link...

https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/3zhqsy/connections_between_bloodborne_and_paradise_lost/

Bloodborne is a "spiritual brother" to Dark Souls, from what I hear. In fact it seems it's in the same universe, but I never played. It's just comments I heard from players I know.

Edit: Found many other sources that makes the connection between Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Paradise Lost. "Dark Souls is a metaphor of life. Like a video game version of Paradise Lost." Along those lines...

I thought Bloodborne was exclusive to the Playstation.
Has this changed ?

It's an exclusive -- also the linked reddit post hardly documents a tangible connection. It's one person's association of a single phrase from Milton, with a theme in Bloodborne. It's sort of like finding a reference to 'ears', and 'hearing' in a poem, and concluding that the writers of Star Trek TNG must have had that poem as an inspiration in creating the Ferengi.

So nothing to see. I was hoping someone would build on top of that with other hints but it feels more like a dead end.

Given that Doom already runs on Vulkan and id Software are no strangers to Linux I think they could do the port themselves.
BFG9000 May 31, 2018
I know Bethesda isn't the biggest fan of Linux, but maybe Wolfenstein 2? It would make a little more sense than Doom 2016 because it's newer.

Plz doom. Doom plz or shadow of war. Cant say I have anything backing my theory. Its just a wish ^_^.

No more strategy games plz.

So?... whatever it is it’ll use metal on macOS. It’s coming from feral.

The image would fit DOOM, and since Doom already supports Vulcan, it's not a huge stretch to imagine a Linux port. Until you remember who's the publisher, that is...

Maybe Killing Floor 2, they were basically asking for help to port it to Linux, it also has a game mode called Poundemonium.
