I will never understand why people like those retro style games. There are thousands like this available for emulators for c64 and most of them look more poolished then todays retro projects.

I semi agree personally it has to have some seriously good gameplay for me to like a "retro" looking game, or else it's all the same as stuff i played when i was younger.
