Developer Free Lives has given Broforce a bit of a refresh recently with a new update with possibly more to come.

This update isn't an overly huge one, since it doesn't add in any extra levels. However, it's clear they care deeply about the game years after release. It's a big polishing pass on the game with lots of bug fixes and optimisations done across all levels, they also reduced the size of it from around 1.5GB to 500mb too.

They've done a great job with it now, loading time is tiny and surprisingly it even performs really well on my low-end Intel notebook.

A little gif of what to expect, taken on Ubuntu with gifine.

That's not all though, they teased on Twitter towards the end of last year that more Bros (characters) may come. Options included Ethan Hunt, Crank, Jack Burton and Steven Seagal.

Honestly, it's such a fantastic game that's completely ridiculous and over the top. I highly recommend checking it out.

You can grab it from Humble Store, GOG and Steam.

Awesome game is awesome!
If you're a fan of action movies, puns and zany action platformers... Broforce is an absolute must-have! 4 player local "coop" is pure madness! <3

One of the best platformers ever. <3
Hopefully they finally improved the endgame performance in multiplayer.
Had a lot of stuttering fighting the end boss.

They should do a DLC or Addon, would totally buy it.

Sorry but the best action platform outthere has a name: Metal Slug.
Still Broforce is one of the best.
