Another day, another big sale is going on. Today is the turn of Valve as they're doing a big Lunar New Year sale. Valve have also revamped Steam's Wishlist feature.

I decided to pick ten games I think people should pick up for various reasons. It's extremely difficult to condense so many awesome Linux games, but my varied choices here I think are a good set for people to look into (if you still haven't!).

  • Tomb Raider - 85% off, Since Rise of the Tomb Raider is officially coming to Linux, getting this played through is a good idea (the price is also ridiculous!).
  • Insurgency - 85% off, It's a solid tactical FPS and if plenty of Linux users buy it, hopefully they will continue to stay committed to getting Insurgency: Sandstorm on Linux.
  • Victor Vran - 75% off, a pretty damn good action RPG. Tons of content and tons of loot! It's also from the studio developing Surviving Mars, which releases with Linux support next month.
  • XCOM 2 - 67% off or XCOM 2 Collection (including the excellent WotC expansion) - 50% off.
  • Dying Light - 60% off or Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition - 67% off.
  • Stellaris - 60% off, with the huge expansion due soon it's a fab time to grab it.
  • Oxygen Not Included - 40% off, probably one of the most engrossing space-colony simulation games I've ever played. Klei have a great history of Linux support too.
  • Overfall - 40% off, not one I've mentioned for a while, but it's a solid RPG with turn-based battles where you travel across the sea and visit various islands.
  • Rusted Warfare - 40% off, I could write paragraphs about my love for this 2D RTS. It brings back so many good memories of Total Annihilation and the recent Steam Workshop update, plus all the other updates makes it really damn fun.
  • Streets of Rogue - 33% off, we had far too much fun during livestreams with this one, absolute madness!

Be sure to share games you feel people absolutely cannot miss in the comments, why don't you pick your top five games that maybe aren't too well known, but you love them? Will be interesting to see what you come up with.

As for the Steam Wishlist, Valve put up a blog post here announcing the changes resulting in a total revamp of the Wishlist system and it's tons better. You can filter per platform, filter out certain titles like Early Access to only see them when they're done and so on. Good stuff from Valve, was long overdue. Now Valve, about the Steam Library and how it's really needing a revamp…

Ps. You can see Linux sales on our Sales Page, which updates constantly.

I was going to buy Rise of the Tomb Raider in preparation for Feral's port but I don't want it to count the purchase as Windows only... but also had to buy something now that had brought my consumer itch to the surface haha. Thus I got Shadow Tactics, Anna's Quest and Teslagrad... Plus Expasin Pack for Zelda on Switch.

Mum, I have a problem! xD

Edit: Also, just realised that on the wishlist you can type the number for the order of the games, isntead of dragging up and down the items. Not sure if that was there before but I find it very useful!

Quoting: BrisseFinally I've acquired Hollow Knight which I just played for almost 2 hours and it seems pretty cool, and Divinity: Original Sin EE which I tried to launch but it just crashes instead. Bedtime now so I'll have to investigate that tomorrow, but worst case scenario I'd just get a refund but I really would like to get it working.

Anyone seen this error before?

Segmentation fault. Game engine fault definitely...

Wondering what current Ark: Survival Evolved linux gamers think of it? I notice in the Steam sale it is at 67% discount, which is pretty decent. Tempted, but I have reservations due to issues with the Linux version, and not sure if the game play is decent or not. Any one want to comment?

Quoting: sn0rlaxPerhaps someone can enlighten me on why Victor Vran is recommended. I bought it and it's the worst performing game I've ever played. Seems like a garbage port. Are you getting good performance from it?

Got 20 to 30 FPS back on Intel Integrated. Now on RX460 stable 60. I cant get higher than that, despite turning vsync off, turning resolution down etc. Story is really great though.

No one can say this Linux gamer doesn't buy games. Snagged Victor Vran, Superhot (I already owned the VR version), The Last Leviathan, Poly Ball, Can't drive this, Immortal Redneck, and Yooka-Laylee. I was about the pull the trigger on cities skyline, but I'm unsure if I have the time required to really sink into that game (or if I'd ever really be in the mood to play).

When it works it's an amazing looking game & well worth the money, there's just no guarantee it'll work from update to update.

Quoting: tonRBut always do remember as Einstein (disputed) quote,
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
Einstein never said that. He was a socialist, not an elitist.
Interesting that I had not heard about the quote being disputed, but you are right that people aren't sure:

You are correct that Einstein had many socialist views. However, I don't see how this quote makes Einstein seem an elitist?

That's why I wrote "(disputed)".

Quoting: GuestWell, it's 'disputed' because someday someone said that Einstein said that without proof. How this can have any credibility?
If i replied like this is because i'm tired of seeing false quotes on the internet, sorry if i've been rude.

Well, according to http://www.zeit.de/2017/42/albert-einstein-dummheit-menschheit-stimmts and https://www.skeptiker.ch/skepsis-im-kleinen-falsche-zitate-einstein-und-die-zwei-arten-von-unendlichkeit-das-universum-und-die-dummheit/, this someone was Fred Perls, who actually has met Einstein. How he wrote it leaves place for a little doubt, but for sure it's not like most other attributed quotes on the net. And what proof for something said (not written down) would you imagine?

Quoting: GuestCalling the humanity stupid and not starting with yourself is very elitist. I feel like a lot of people keep blaming humanity for problems created by capitalism. Like saying that some president got elected because 'people is stupid', that's just simplistic.

Whatever system or voting you don't like - it's no beast on its own, but made by humans.
