Developer Lonely Troops is back this year, as the casual adventure RPG Hero of the Kingdom III [Official Site, Steam] will release with Linux support.

The game might not be for everyone, but it's good to see more developers continue bringing their later games to Linux. Our contributor Flesk tried out the original and seemed to like it. There's actually a demo available on Steam already which I tested and it seems to work fine, other than initial issues with multiple monitors.

You can see some gameplay from the demo below:

Quoting: PatolaIs that it? A few static screens? Or the game has something more elaborate than the trailer shows, like travel/scrolling?
These games are extremely simple. Just a few hours of casual clicking around. Good for when you just don't have the energy for anything more taxing. :)

That said, I wouldn't have bought them at full price.

Well, first and second game i series was actually nice if you know that expect. In this game all you do is click. Click, click, click. There is no actual "action", just resource gathering (by click) and performing certain "quests" by click again. For example - you need to fix bridge and you need 6 logs for that, and to get logs you need to click on trees to cut them and so on. Second game introduced certain "production chains" in which you transform a lot of resources in other forms to sell or use later and task which require huge amounts of resources to perform (like building ship) which making this game rather long and tiresome.
Also there is pixel hunting to collect hidden resources for achievement. Thats it, basically. Easy and cal casual adventure with resource management. Good to kill time but not very engaging.

While being quite simple those games is quite polished, though. Backgrounds is nice looking, overall port quality is good, no crashes and glitches.

I really liked the first and second one, even re-played them a few times already. I hope this will bring the same quality.

They're hidden object adventure games. I enjoyed the first two which ran just fine on my crappy laptop.

Yup , liked the first two very much despite being casual clickers. Did not play any clicker game before that.
Will probably get this as well.
