This is just a rebranding of Regnum Online. Still, one of the better MMO's with a native Linux client and the fairly recent graphical update has helped.

Ive been playing this game throughout a few years off and on. I really enjoy it. Although sometimes you can run into some quests that are bugged and what not, but other than that, it's pretty good.

i have played it some time ago as well. i got turned off by the boring PvE grind.
never reached to RvR which seems to be a lot of fun.
but now i see that at level10 you have BattleZones(battlegrounds) to level up as well.
so i might give it another try, cause i really hate PvE in PvP orientated games.

prolly gonna do Linux Gaming Video soon as well.

its a very pvp focussed game. they updated and polished the gfx, but its largely the same DAOC format as right at the start. the combat system was designed by the player base, so it has basic gfx and a basic responsive combat system. which actually makes it simple to learn and enjoy in pvp. don't expect pvp to be easy tho - u need very good situational awareness to survive.

I did a basic gameplay video of it running in Ubuntu 12.10 64Bit here

I'm still trying to make better quality videos, so it's not the best. Has anyone else who's tried the Linux version had the weird bug where the launcher refuses to open? I really had to struggle with it. Kept clicking Play until the Launcher opened up with the licence agreement.

The graphics are definitely a lot more shiny now, but the game crashes if I try to change resolutions in game. Had to edit the game.cfg manually outside of the game to get it to change to 1920x1080.

i have had zero launcher crashes, started fine all the time. no game crashes also with max settings.
only problem is that it turns off the second monitor when going fullscreen. and when using windowed mode with 1920x1080 for example, then some of the games content is hidden behind the panels.
but modifying game.cfg to 1920x1000 and windowed makes it work without problems and can see the full content of the game.

Hmm, it's definitely peculiar. Whenever I run "Verify Integrity of Game Cache", it will say 7 things need to be redownloaded. It's always 52MB, so I'm guessing I have a corrupted download. Redownloading would normally fix it, but it isn't doing that this time.

If I were to run the launcher from the game folder, it works fine. But if I try to run it from Steam, that's when there's a problem.

Looks really cool except the sound crashes right away.  I filed a bug report hope it gets fixed soon.
