Changes to screenshots

Changes to screenshots

Can a few people please test the screenshots javascript lytebox, i removed it auto-resizing images.

Can you tell me if it looks okay. It was making pictures too small even on my 24" monitor.

My thinking is that if people really want to see a game then full-screen the video if available or download the demo. Screenshots are just for a glimpse of the game, don't need to be massive anyway right (but not small where it's been resized and looks horrible as it has been doing anyway...can't imagine how it looked on say a 10" netbook screen to look at screenshots).

Re: Changes to screenshots

Just checked screenshots my resolution 1366x768, thumb nail could be a little larger, when double clicked enlarged view screenshot is slightly too large have to scroll down and slightly right to view whole image.

Re: Changes to screenshots

Your meant to be able to scroll that was that point as before any screenshots it auto-resized and they looked terrible. The only other way around that would be to get rid of lytebox and directly link to the images to give a bit more space.

I think i just need to re-do a few screenshots a bit smaller. Like the dosbox game launcher, need to re-do it for the window only and not show half my crap on the screen heh.

> Edit
Have made thumbnails a bit bigger and they will all be the same size now to match...as some where odd sizes.
Had to re-write the image uploader and implement a new php class to do it.
Now though anytime the script tries to load a thumbnail that doesn't exist it will be created (means i can change their sizes anytime without worrying about a thing ).

How does it look now? I might need to either do a different size thumbnail for above the stats (open source, price, single/multi etc) or just move that shot with the others which might be the better choice anyway, what do you think?

Re: Changes to screenshots

According to this website
http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php
The most common screen resolution is 1024*768
maybe bring blown up screenshots to be more in line with that.

Thumbnails I wouldn't worry about too much.

Re: Changes to screenshots

I think your along the right lines, i should re-size them when they are stupidly big as right now it won't at all.

I'm starting to think having the one thumbnail on it's own looks odd, since originally it was there as the games shot (before i added the ability for more), so i think that needs moving to where the others are. I think keeping all the media together like that would make it feel better, what you think?

Re: Changes to screenshots

If your saying there should be a thumbnail for each screenshot together. Take for example Freesynd it has 2 screenies , yeah I think they should be shown as thumbnails side by side.

Re: Changes to screenshots

Okay that will be done.

I'm seriously struggling to fine out how i can get the lytebox to move to the top of the browser, no idea what positions it there.

Re: Changes to screenshots

Okay i have now implemented a solution

Turned on the auto-resizing and managed to get the lytebox to display a link to the full image below it, simples.
