CRYENGINE, the other major game engine is adding in Vulkan support in their 5.3 release due in October.

You can see their public roadmap here, if you click on "Graphics and Rendering" under the 5.3 release you will see Vulkan listed.

While exciting, not many Linux games use CRYENGINE so it remains to be seen if it will really help us all that much. At least the added benefit here is games using CRYENGINE 5.3+ will have another chance at coming to Linux in future.

Chris Roberts really wants star citizen to come to Linux also, so this is likely where Crytek is getting pressure from to get a Vulkan component working (from Kingdom come also)
