Good news for fans of both Cyberpunk and Point & Click adventure games, as Born Punk has been fully funded on Kickstarter.

The campaign just ended today, with over $48K Australian Dollars pledged from nearly 1K backers to help bring it to life. Thanks to some who pledged directly over PayPal, the final total combined was actually over $53K which means it will also get Polish, Italian and Portuguese translations.

More about it from the developer:

Born Punk is a point & click adventure! It's a cyberpunk adventure! It's science-fiction too! Now that the buzzwords are out of the way, let us explain this in a less sensational manner: Born Punk is a game in the style of the 80s and 90s point & click classics like Monkey Island, Gabriel Knight and Beneath A Steel Sky, that wants to deliver an intriguing storyline and logical, non-outlandish puzzles - which admittedly, were a bane of ye olden games.

If interested, the demo is still available to try out on itch.io.

I will follow this one along as I do for a great many others, to keep you informed of how it goes during development up until the final release which should be sometime next year.

Personally, I'm really happy to see point & click adventures so alive and well, mainly thanks to indie developers like Insert Disk 22 with Born Punk helping to keep the genre going.

I am really looking forward for testing the game.

There is a chance I will be in the game, we'll see :D

Fun fact: The game was fully funded within 24 hours

I had some issues getting the demo going (as they mentioned on their download page). I vaguely recall other Visionaire games being a bit iffy on Linux too.

I'd be interested to try when all the kinks are worked out.

The linux export for the engine is very strange, since exports for Windows and Mac worked.
We'll get that sorted once we get to that ;)
