End of May Linux gaming roundup! And other bits and bobs!

Posted by , | Views: 10,871
So with June knocking at our doors it's time to just take a quick look back at what's been going on!

So May has been quite an amazing month for Linux gaming, we seem to have games running towards us from all sides, from the barrage of Kickstarters to the ferocious indie bundles like Humble Bundle once again gracing us with some really awesome titles.

Here's a pick of a few of my favourite new releases this last month:

Prison Architect Alpha 10 Released and for Linux!
Expeditions: Conquistador turn based strategy RPG released for Linux!
Door Kickers from KillHouse Games heading to Linux soon!
Anomaly 2 is now available on Linux!
Half-Life 2, EP1, EP2 and Lost Coast hit Linux!
Humble Double Fine Bundle launches, we were right!
Left 4 Dead 2 available for Linux in beta form!

We also saw Muntdefems start his The Funding Crowd, a weekly review of Linux crowdfunded games articles which you all need to read, he is doing some really amazing work here on GOL, along with that let's not forget his work on the Game Sales page and the Wiki as well!

Meanwhile Alex has also been doing some top notch work on our new mascot/logo for our 3rd? (4th I don't know!) redesign which you can see and give feedback here. If you want to see the new design before it goes up hit up this forum post and let us know what you think!

Next Month

Next month the relentless barrage of gaming news will continue, I always have articles lined up and ready to post but people keep submitting their own awesome news and it pushes my own back as to not flood your feeds too much! Psst. Can news just stop happening for like 2-3 days so I can catch up? :D

Next week we have the Planetary Annihilation Alpha starting which it seems like it will be having a small roll out at the start, I chatted with a developer who stated this about Linux support in the Alpha:
QuoteAll platforms will be supported in alpha, even if not on day 1.

Starbound has been posting daily updates on their progress and it's looking crazy good, really looking forward to playing, I seriously think we will see the Beta release in June, it looks like the Beta will hit Linux right away too since one of the developers shared this screen shot ;).

Well that's about all right now folks, see you next month?

"Next week we have the Planetary Annihilation Alpha starting which it seems like it will be having a small roll out at the start" doesn't really sound right

Awesome month for Linux gamers

I would have included Salvation Prophecy on that list myself, as it was only released for Linux on May 6. I have not been able to buy it yet, but I am already convinced it is awesome.

Have we had a news post on the native Maia 0.26 alpha yet? I haven't spotted one, but would love to read some impressions (currently don't have a 64 bit machine at my disposal to check it out myself).
