Are you ready to face hell? I sure wasn't apparently. Devil Daggers [Official Site, Steam] is now out for Linux and I took a little look.

Devil Daggers is a first-person arena style shooter, you're essentially always trying to beat your previous scores, and everyone else. What's really cool is you can download a replay of anyone's game to see how they did it. The game is rather simplistic, but it's brilliantly designed to hook you in.

The game works fine for me, with really smooth frame-rates and no stuttering. Not surprising, as it's not exactly graphically intensive, and it's a rather small arena.

The game is hard, one touch and it's all over for you. I haven't managed to last very long at all, but something about it is almost addictive.

It will be very interesting to see how you do against my time. My current best time is 84.5868. That's only just over a minute long—a very frustrating time. It quickly becomes rather difficult, as you get utterly swarmed the longer you're in it.

It took me 20 minutes to last longer than a single minute in the game. My next personal challenge is to hit two minutes.

This is gearing up to be a game I'm going to repeatedly come back to for one more run.

About the game
Inspired by 1990s FPS and arcade games, Devil Daggers is a fast-paced shooter that places you in an abyssal arena to face endless legions of demons. Armed with versatile magic daggers and a fluid movement system, fight to survive as long as you can. Compete for precious seconds with Steam Friends or on global leaderboards.Your spirit and skill will be tested. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: michaSo are you guys sure it counts as a Linux sale without the icon present?
Yes, of course it has a Linux version not reason for it not to.

According to Steam.db it's 64bit only & the Linux icon has now appeared on steam store. :D

Having sigz only a few minor seconds ahead of me is so annoying, can't break his time!

I swear that the v3 update made the game slightly easier as I find myself getting to the point where I have 30 gems collected more often now.

I played for two (near immediate) deaths, watched Samsai's replay, then exited immediately. I think the comparisons to Super Hexagon are apt, super punishing at the beginning, but on average you survive a second or two longer per run. But it's not really for picking up and playing for fun until you get pretty good.

I'm testing out an installation of Solus and played this game on the laptop. It only worked if you turn off the toggle that makes Steam run using the runtime of Solus. The overlay does not work, but Steam keeps track of your playtime and shows you playing the game. Don't know if anything else will help. :)

I just ran into this issue myself and to fix it you need to either delete or rename libstdc++.so.6
for me it was located in steam/steamapps/common/devildaggers/lib64/

Hope that helps.
