I hope you're getting as ridiculously excited as I am about whatever this ends up being. Frictional Games have updated their teaser website for their upcoming game again.

Here's an overview of how it's changed. This growth happened from late December last year, up until January 29 when the video was updated:

It sure does look like a baby now, perhaps this is still to throw us off and it's going to turn into a disaster somehow? Well, Frictional Games are the creators of SOMA, Amnesia and Penumbra so some horrible thing is bound to happen.

When writing about it last time, I noted how they were also putting up secret videos on YouTube you had to find the code for. They either showed up inside meta tags in the HTML code of the teaser website, or somewhere else like a title that pops up when you hover over something. Checking back again, they actually put a code in a hidden span HTML tag:

Exxpedition: frrequenncy oof raddioo 78.3 short WWave seQQuence

When you work out what that means, it's "Exxpedition frrequenncy oof raddioo 783 short WWave seQQuence". Taking the double letters with the numbers and then the doubled capitals leads to another of their hidden videos:

Attempting to read the letter shown is difficult. Something about an itching behind their eyes, trying not to be afraid and it ends with the writer wishing they had their gun. The video description is:

Recovered 12/5/2018, via source S576a. Salzburg, site TBD. Document retrieval failed, investigation commissioned.

Oh Frictional, you tease.

Okay now we have pretty much narrowed down to primates. My guess is that it will be somehow mutated human as just a human baby could be boring.

There is an itching behind my eyes as if a beetle burrows there in the folds of my brain seeking its way in, mandibles teasing at grey matter. As if a frantic finger has been pushed into my skull a broken fingernail working into my thoughts. I want to reach in with a needle to scratch it. Or perhaps a peice of wire though the tear duck, treading through the lacrimal canal.

Thread like black worms swimming (behind) eyes. When I think about them (they) are agitated and start to thrash around.
They know I am afraid and it makes them worse.

If I hold myself still if I calm my mind, if I empty my head and try not to be afraid of .. Then the itching fades to the tickling of a feather. I've tried filling myself with the notes of a song, of the colours of a beautiful picture but that doesn't work.
only emptiness gives me any ..

I wish I had my gun

I think that's it :)

I hope their teasing is on paar with the game or it will be a huge disapointment.
It's like sex where too much teasing make it pop out ^_^

Frictional makes some very disturbing sickening games (except for soma though, that was ok). The story is so disturbing, I feel sick, yet I want to continue to know how the story unfolds, even though I know, in the end, it will plant a seed in my brain that will slowly eat it until I am nothing more but a vegetable, a mere spectator of what the seed has grown into doing unspeakable things, using my body.

But yeah, I know their games make me sick, but I will still buy it. This is not like doom3 jumpscare galore. It's not the game that you play, but it's the story they tell in the game.
Amnesia had the sickest descriptions of optimal methods of the torture and death sentences they used to do.
Penumbra... If you know the end, you might not want to play it.

I think the 'baby' has grown a little more... previous videos 0204.mp4, 0213.mp4, 2020.mp4 current 2028.mp4
There are a couple of other changes too. They have already been decoded and we have a newVideo :)

and a little more text:
The rise and fall of dunes, the waves of a waterless sea
A single star burns in the void; below it is nothing but dust
Two lizards dance in the heat, writhing across the sand
A tower pierces the sky; an impossible point of ascent

To plunder the earth for gold, then realise your coin has no worth
To travel a well-trodden road, then find yourself pathless and lost
To gaze at a circle of glass, to discover a world lies within
Life is the simplest of games, a game it seems no-one can win

The veil is split in two,
The fear gives rise to rage,
A hundred lives from now, all this will be memory, lost in the desert.
