9 years! Who would have thought that many years ago we would be here writing about Linux games every day with a full inbox. We officially turn 9 this Thursday, so it's likely the livestream on that day will be a bit of a celebration, so be sure to follow us on Twitch.

What a truly awesome ride it has been and shall be for many years to come, we have absolutely no plans to ever stop. There’s been many ups and downs over the years, but we’ve stuck through everything and come out smiling.

I am the owner of GamingOnLinux. Happy Birthday Gaming on Linux.. (and Liam :D)

Can't believe how Linux (and Linux gaming) are thrived today (and will continue to thriving) with lots of anti-open source hostile crowd in tech world.

Linux gaming always having lots "ups and downs" but if we stick together (even do many of us have many views), be vocal and continued voting with our money. Linux gaming community will be great in the future.

FOR LINUX GAMING!!.. ***Raise my glass***

I just took a look at some of the account profile numbers similar to mine. Profile number 1 is Liam of course, profile number 2 no longer exists, then you have MaximB who directed me to GOL in the first place back in 2009 from his own Linux gaming blog, followed by two people who have not logged on since around the time they first joined, before you finally get me clocking in at number 6. Next active poster is at number 12.

I am officially claiming my right to be called a Great Old One and demanding a holiday home be built for me in R'lyeh.

I seem to recall when account creation first started, but I tend to lurk a long time without creating accounts, lol! Thanks Liam for sticking around, and only quitting for short periods both times. :)

Without GOL championing Linux as a viable gaming platform would Valve have even looked at it?
