Get Deponia: The Complete Journey free in the Humble Winter Sale Encore

By - | Views: 7,694

Humble are doing an encore of their Winter Sale and they're giving away another free game with Deponia: The Complete Journey. On top of that, if you spend at least $5 they give you a copy of Insurgency free too.

Note: For the free game, they do require you to subscribe to their newsletter. It's available on Linux too (as is Insurgency) so that's good for us!

The free keys expire on January 31 at 6PM UTC, so make sure you redeem them before then to keep it! That's only for keys you don't redeem, once you do it's yours to keep of course.

As they've extended their sale for another few days until January 28th at 6PM UTC, there's of course more great Linux gaming deals to be found like:

And of course a great many more than that along with various DLC, that's just a few random picks of stuff I rather enjoyed or find interesting.

Visit the Humble Store for more. Hopefully you enjoy the free game if you don't own it.

If you still have them, I would be really interested in them. :)

Quoting: GuestDeponia is an horrible game, bugged and with illogical puzzles, a pain to play even for free.

I'll admit that by Deponia 4, the puzzles had become a little abstract, but I (and my daughter) found the original trilogy hilarious, great fun to play and didn't encounter a single bug. We've played it start-to-finish three times now.

Sounds like you were just unlucky.

That's a bit harsh I think. I actually enjoyed the game(s) quite a bit (despite the unlikable protagonist). Steam reviews are "mostly positive" so I don't think I'm alone.

I'd say the puzzles were about as logical as you'd expect from a surreal comedy adventure. Certainly no worse than in some of the classics. I'll take your word on the bugs though. I might very well have bumped into a couple myself, but can't remember the specifics. Certainly nothing game-breaking or I wouldn't have finished.

Too bad the giveaway doesn't seem to include Humble's DRM-free download, unlike the version I got a while back in a bundle.

Same experience as tuubi. Got kind of tired of the series by the end of the third game and didn't get the fourth, but no insurmountable bugs and I don't think I had to resort to walkthroughs any more often than with other games of the genre. Definitely nothing bad enough that I would turn my nose up at it when it's free.

This is (unfortunately) standard on Humble. The free games always are only Steam keys, even if the game itself is DRM-free in the Humble store.

One of the reasons why I don't use Humble anymore...

As for Deponia: I did indeed get massively stuck with some of the puzzles. Still enjoyed all three parts.
