A nice way to end the week on, the DRM free store GOG are giving away copies of SOMA for 48 hours so act fast. Note: Apparently the claim button on the game's page doesn't work, there's also a banner you can use on the GOG homepage.

For those not always a fan of the difficulty in horror titles like SOMA, they actually added an easier mode last year for those who prefer to follow the story. I always love the story-telling in Frictional Games' titles, a few issues aside it's a brilliant game. Something for your weekend perhaps, it's free so you've got nothing to lose. Just bring some spare pants.

As a reminder, the GOG Winter Sale is also still going until January 3rd. If you or a friend are looking for something new, we have a curated collection available to look over.

Plenty of Linux games are currently on sale not in our little list for those who prefer using GOG, find all Linux titles available here.

There's also even more games available on GOG Connect, the service that allows you to grab a copy on GOG of selected titles you own on Steam.

Quoting: Mountain ManNot really into horror games -- not because they scare me; they just don't interest me -- but still, I'm not going to turn down free!
Then, like Liam said, I'd really recommend to play in (or try) SafeMode, it indeed takes away the stress and leaves space for exploration and the actual story.
There's this review that goes a bit into details here

A little bit off topic, but still not Linux release of The Penumbra Collection on GOG. :(

I bought the Penumbra series back in 2016 and right after the Half-Life and Portal series, Penumbra, Amnesia and everything Frictional releases is pure gold. A great mix of storytlling, survival horror and puzzle solving, all very well balanced... and best of all, all support Linux natively. Frictional so far deserves all the support!

... for a moment, you had me thinking "why would anyone play with 'bad settings'?"
