GOL Asks: What have you been playing recently?

By - | Views: 33,234
It's been another few months since I asked this question, so let's see what you have all been up to recently! There's so many games on Linux now we are spoilt for choice.

Myself, I have been playing a fair bit of the strategy game/collectible card game Faeria which I have fallen a little in love with.

We also had a bit of a multiplayer game on Sid Meier's Civilization V with myself, Samsai, BTRE and a fellow named Gnarface from IRC. I have to say, that game has given me a renewed interest in Civilization V, and I hope Aspyr are able to fix the game up soon for newer Nvidia drivers as it became an issue for me. I ended up having to use my Steam Machine with the older more stable drivers.

What have you been playing? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

After XCOM2, I played through "Batman: Arkham Knight"...on windows. Disappointing, since I had held off on playing, waiting for the Linux version to be announced. Still, I felt this was actually the weakest game in the series as far as story & interesting villain antics were concerned. So...maybe not such a big loss for Linux after all.

Right now I'm playing "Dying Light: The Following". THIS, is how a dlc/expansion should be made, tons of quests, huge area to move around and a fairly decent main-story to boot.

Recently been playing a lot of Xonotic. A few people I know on IRC put together a server for us newcomers to the game, so it's been a lot of fun. I really miss arena shooters.

Recently "played" through Dear Esther. It's a walking simulator, but the story was 100% better than Gone Home, which I was very disappointed in. Played some Reus, and Dustforce. Really like Dustforce. It's a platform game that let's you compare your score against other players. Now if I could just figure out how to get a controller to work properly with Trine or Super Meat Boy, I could clear out some of this back catalog.

Each of them are great games in their own category.

I'm finishing up Shadow of Mordor and it's DLC's, Shadow Warrior in hard mode via New Game+, Time Clickers, and playing Borderlands 2 again on the weekends with my friend who hadn't played it yet.
