They plan to release Hitman for Linux on Thursday 16th of February, so be sure mark your calendars.
This is amazing, as we get Civilization VI from Aspyr Media, Hitman and then DiRT Rally both from Feral Interactive in the space of about a month. All three games I'm incredibly excited to see on Linux, as all of them big franchises for us to have to keep moving forward.
I told you this year was going to be good, so don't doubt me eh!
I'm nearly out of hard-drive space, I'm actually going to have to buy an new hard drive just for games, on Linux, insanity.
David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral InteractiveHitman is a franchise that has defined the stealth genre, and this game is very much a return to the series’ roots. It’s been a long wait to get a Hitman title onto Linux, but I can’t think of a better way than this to introduce the series to Linux gamers.
Feral have confirmed it will be an OpenGL title, so no Vulkan at launch. Of course, it's entirely possible they may update it in future to use Vulkan.
It will cost £39.99/$59.99/€49.99 for the whole season, but episodes can be purchased individually.

PS: I'm a bit confused that Feral lately only ports titles that are "Mixed" on the review side at best. Might it be "Deus Ex" or "Hitman". I think that might also have an influence on copies sold, probably aiming for some good rated games would be an idea.
Regarding the possibly of Skyrim. Feral says at their website:

Most likely it will be a port of any of those games.
By the way, where did you find out anything about a Vulkan Skyrim port? I'd rather say that does not exist. Also Bethesda never did any move towards supporting Linux.

Nintendo Switch is using Vulkan.
Bethesda won't support Linux directly of course,still Feral or Aspyr like companies needed.

I have a 1TB SSD, a 750 GB SSD and 2 450 GB SSD's all in my gaming rig. I can't bring myself to go back to spinning disks after using an SSD, they are just to slow. I only use spinning disks in my NAS. I remember thinking the 750 GB drive would hold a whole lot of games, then the games starting being 20GB, 40GB and 60GB of data... so much for that idea.

In the name of the whole community, thanks for waiting to buy the Linux port! There are some games I am dying to see on Linux (e.g. GTA V), but I think chances are abysmal. Even so, I am not nearly desperate enough to give up and throw money towards Windows gaming if my wish doesn't come true. Dang, if anything, I am desperate for time to play all the Linux games already available!

About the size of disks: I really wonder how many games you've installed simultaneously...! My games sit on my oldest SSD, 80 GB..

I used to dual boot or keep a Windows box around. No more, at this point you couldn't pay me to use Windows at home. The only way I pay for a game that isn't officially released on Linux is if their is an independent engine you can use with the extracted game files(Doom 3, Morrowind), I'm optimistic about OpenRW becoming fully functional although the development has slowed. Xoreos would be nice but it has been worked on a long time and still has a long way to go. I learned my lesson the first couple of games I bought on the promise of a Linux release... Darksiders and Evolve. I'll buy it when it is released, on Linux. Feral is on fire, I actually don't have the money to buy all their games. Until recently I would buy some of the games I wasn't really interested in playing just to support Linux game development. I will be buying Hitman for sure, not sure about Dirt Rally. I will probably buy CIV VI, but mainly because I want to support Aspyr and encourage them to keep pushing Linux as it seems their Linux efforts have died down.

I have ALL games installed simultaneously (1000+), it's nice to be able to play anything without waiting for the install.
They're all installed on an NFS mount that is available to all machines at my house, so I can sit down and play anywhere. Also there are steam links where there aren't PCs, as the living room and garage.
Even a single game nowadays can be 40gb, do you only have the games you're currently playing installed?
