Humble Store has a Summer Sale on, here's a look at what's going for Linux

Posted by , | Views: 6,739

Humble Store has another big sale on, this time they're doing a Summer Sale so I've gathered together some good deals for you.

There's a ridiculous amount of games on sale, so it's hard to parse such a big list into worthy titles. Here's a bunch to get you going:

There's obviously a lot more going. See all on the Humble Store.

For those interested in trying some Steam Play titles, from Valve's official whitelist (games that are supposed to work fine) these are on sale:

They're also giving away copies of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, although it doesn't seem to work with Steam Play—yet. The key for that needs to be redeemed by September 15th.

The Humble Spooky Horror Bundle 2018 also still has five days left, with White Noise 2, Layers of Fear and Detention that are all Linux-native games. I've seen multiple reports of BioShock Remastered running well in Steam Play which is also included.

Again, you can find all that and more on the Humble Store.

As always, see more on our dedicated Sales Page.

They have chosen the best time of summer to do this, they aren't stepping on the feet of other stores doing the same thing. But I am still apprehensive about buying any games from IGN.

The only game you listed I don't have is Into the Breach, I might be able to pick that up tomorrow.

hummer010BlazeRush is on for ~$3, right after Liam's recommendation!
Oh hell, how did I miss that

Like you said - with the number of games on sale, it was tough to parse the list down. I had it wishlisted after your recommendation. I've bought it now. I'm looking forward to testing it out with my kid tonight!

Space Marine used to work quite well for single player if the DRM was bypassed. It does kind of load with current versions of wine which allow that DRM scheme to operate through wine, but it crashes pretty hard about 10 seconds into any game, and is quite slow.

The Dawn of War series, however, all run great.

According to the last statement from dev, they are currently working on the Linux version, so that might be something to consider.

Of course this sale started 2 days after I paused my Humble Monthly.

But, that just means I need to wait for a few days before I get anything. (so I can get an additional 10% off from the monthly subscription rewards)

Apparently, history doesn't teach anything some people. To promise is not to deliver. There were lots of "Linux coming later" situations (e.g. "Unreal Tournament 3" ) that never delivered. If the money have already been payed, why work then?

That's my POV, anyway (AKA "No Tux == No Bucks" ). Ultimately, it is your call.
