Interstellar Marines gets Steam greenlight!

By - | Views: 8,840
Interstellar Marines a realistic futuristic first person shooter has been Greenlighted on Steam!

The good news is they say it will also be available on Linux! It uses Unity3D so it's no surprise they will be supporting Linux now too.

The game itself is easily one of of if not the most impressive looking shooter we will have on our platform;

QuoteJack-in with your friends in this cooperative First Person Simulator and experience a believable future where first contact with another sentient species is imminent.

The game is in Open Door Development and are planned for release in late 2013.

I hope my laptop can handle this game...excited!

Update: They actually stated via twitter they haven't tried it on Linux yet but are hoping/planning to as Unity supports Linux. Bit of a stiff to put a Linux tag on your game when it may not actually run. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I was thinking the same thing, but I am not sure that's a good thing as there are far better looking games out there. Nevertheless, it's a start. The game better have other excellent aspects too, otherwise I wouldn't feel comfortable with Linux users supporting a pretty but otherwise crappy game. Yes, we should support game developers, but we shouldn't reward them for poor games.

I agree and would never personally promote what i see as crapware here although that's hard to do when a game isn't released. Thankfully this game looks very interesting.

Looks a bit too Multiplayer focused for my tastes.

I only upvoted Interstellar Marines because it looked silly with its quadrupedal sharks >_<

Out of the most recently "greenlit" batch, I'm most looking forward to Octodad and AirBuccaneers :)

I wonder if AirBuccaneers is from the same team that made the unreal tournament mod of the same name.
Octodad is one of the better ones for myself.

Why the hate for multiplayer? It will have a proper single player campaign too though.
