inXile confirm the Linux version of The Bard's Tale IV is being worked on

For those waiting on the native Linux version of The Bard's Tale IV, fear not, as inXile Entertainment have confirmed they're working on it.

As mentioned in an older Kickstarter update, once the Windows version was finished they said they would be "all hands are on deck" to sort the Linux version out. It's been out almost a month now, so I was beginning to wonder what was happening. Wonder no more, as they have made sure to confirm this again in their recent Steam update where they said this:

With Patch 3 being released, we are now focusing on our original goal of enhancing the game by adding many additional features after launch. Legacy Mode, controller support, and grid movement will only be some of them and we will talk more about those items and more in the near future. Friends of Mac and Linux will also be happy to hear that we are working on those versions as well.

Emphasis ours.

It's always a shame when there's a delay, but hopefully this will give them ample time to ensure the Linux version is at an acceptable standard and not simply pushing out with big issues.

This may be a way for inXile to get back in my good graces, after they blew more than $4M and 4 years on Torment:Tides of Numenera, which had a damn novel of text, which was well-written, but has itself gotten a lot of criticism, and about 50% of a full game. They didn't even build an engine, but used PoE's very good engine.

And still they put out a CRPG with ~50 hours of play time.:><:
