It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

By - | Views: 79,974

Feral Interactive, the absolute monster when it comes to big Linux game ports is asking what you want to see again.

You all know Feral by now, they've ported HITMAN, F1 2017, Mad Max, Dawn of War III, Life is Strange, XCOM, XCOM 2, DiRT Rally and many more seriously good games to Linux. On top of that, they still have an existing teaser up that they haven't yet announced, all we know is that it's coming to Linux.

On Twitter, they asked this recently:

It’s a New Year full of new possibilities! If you could only have one new game for macOS, Linux or mobile in 2018, which one would it be? And why? We can’t promise that your dreams will come true, but the best answers will star in our email newsletter.

Naturally, Feral lurk in our comments, so feel free to post here as well as I'm sure they will be taking note.

For me personally, I would like a new open-world game that I can travel around and sink plenty of hours into. Something to allow time to fade away and forget about all lifes problems.

So—what do you want Feral to bring to Linux next?

Thinking of the why first here, I want a game, any game, which keeps people on Windows. Right now, my top votes for that would be: PUBG, Fortnite, Overwatch or Paladins. So pretty much any of these would be an unbelievable win for Linux. The fact that I'd play any of them to death if they were available Linux is just a bonus!

More selfishly, I'm a gigantic fan of Dishonoured, so I'd love to see Dishonoured 2 come to Linux for more ghost/stealth/action. Deus Ex: MD was a huge win, but Dishonoured is just fantastic.

Even more selfishly? Some big AAA, story-driven shooter, like Prey, or the new Doom, or Wolfenstein.

Pick one though? PUBG, even though it's my least favourite out of all these... it's the one that would get most people interested in Linux. And I'd still play it loads.

Did they fulfil every request of 2017? My most wanted game is still Batman: Arkham Knight because it's awesome and it's the only open world game which is not boring.

Choosing from games of 2017, I'd pick any Bethesda game (Prey, Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2), because Bethesda is the saviour of singleplayer AAA games.

I would like to see... not one but three as many people have answered here

- Warlock, Master of the Arcane. Because it's one of my favorites TBS games, and I love TBS. Also, the linux version of Warlock 2 was pretty shitty, and they never finished it. It has horrible performance and lots of bugs left.

- Basically any of the Elder Scrolls series. Skyrim would be the best because I love first person RPG's and I already played Oblivion and Morrowind. Plus, for Morrowind we have OpenMW now :)

- Legend of Grimrock II. That was a shame not to have this one after the first was on Linux

Personally? Empire Earth but I imagine such an old title would be better ported by a smaller operation or simply wrapped.
