It's time to bug Feral Interactive about future port requests once again

By - | Views: 79,574

Feral Interactive, the absolute monster when it comes to big Linux game ports is asking what you want to see again.

You all know Feral by now, they've ported HITMAN, F1 2017, Mad Max, Dawn of War III, Life is Strange, XCOM, XCOM 2, DiRT Rally and many more seriously good games to Linux. On top of that, they still have an existing teaser up that they haven't yet announced, all we know is that it's coming to Linux.

On Twitter, they asked this recently:

It’s a New Year full of new possibilities! If you could only have one new game for macOS, Linux or mobile in 2018, which one would it be? And why? We can’t promise that your dreams will come true, but the best answers will star in our email newsletter.

Naturally, Feral lurk in our comments, so feel free to post here as well as I'm sure they will be taking note.

For me personally, I would like a new open-world game that I can travel around and sink plenty of hours into. Something to allow time to fade away and forget about all lifes problems.

So—what do you want Feral to bring to Linux next?

I'd be great if they focus on upcoming high profile titles. Can potentially make them more money. At least if it's released day-1 or very shortly after. On the other hand it's a gamble ofc since they don't know yet how well received an unreleased game will be.

Anyway some example I have in mind:

That said, I'd love to have a native Linux version of Life is Strange: Before the Storm but it's probably probably more and Aspyr job since the engine is Unity3D.
Also really great would be NieR: Automata or What Remains of Edith Finch.

First and foremost, Witcher 3 and 1.

Then a couple of good AAA games, like PUBG, Prey, Bayonetta, Nier, Dishonored.

For me personally, something smaller, like South Park, Valiant Hearts, Edith Finch.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, because the previous one was great, and this installment looks just as good!
Total War: Warhammer 2, because it's a Trilogy, so we need part 2 before we can get part 3 right?

The Mass Effect Trilogy! Without a doubt!

Batman: Arkham Asylum - This game would make a great addition to the Linux gaming ecosystem. It has some of the best mood, aesthetic, storytelling, and replay value of any superhero game out there. The graphical fidelity, art direction, and choice of voice actors make for memorable experiences time and again.

As somebody who has only ever played this on a friend's Xbox 360, I'd gladly pay full price for this game if it was available for Linux.

Hopefully this question is again a method for Feral to create some momentum before the release of a new title, it reads very similar to the former question if Linux gamers would be interested in F1 2017 ;)

Anyway: Rise of the Tomb Raider - Having the series complete on Linux wouldn't no longer make me jealous when someone mentions how cool the complete Uncharted series is for PS3/4. Fingers crossed!

Last time I checked, The Witcher 1 ran really well in Wine, so I don't know if a port would be a great idea...

Dark Souls: Remastered, because availability of a Souls title would surely bring more attention to the Linux as a gaming platform.
