It's all well and good us having "SuperTuxKart", but KartSim looks fantastic and aims to be much more realistic.

The racing side of it looks challenging enough to be fun and with customization added in too, that's just icing on the cake.

About
KartSim is a multiplayer kart racing game with sandbox stunt driving and serious racing game modes.

Race karts at speeds up to 160km/h, powered by 45hp engines.

Create, customise and build an exclusive team with your friends and make your own custom liveries, helmets and team accessories.

Walk anywhere around the track in between races, and show off your avatar, kart and team to other players.

Real kart physics engine simulates the flex of the chassis. Be careful how to drive or you'll end up with a bent chassis!

KartSim will launch with 5 laser scanned tracks, 5 different kart classes, AI and Multiplayer with more content to be added during Early Access.

They need votes to get onto Steam, so visit their greenlight page and vote away. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Does not look like a combat racer/battle racer to me. I will stick with SuperTuxKart and the occasional Mario Kart.

It looks like a first commercial racing game for Linux, we should all be happy cause this genre is scarce on linux.

Nice. In the forum on Steam the devs have confirmed support for wheels as well. Hopefully my Logitech G27 will work with it in Linux.
