Kentucky Route Zero is a surreal point and click adventure game where players explore a secret highway located in caves below Kentucky and interact with all sorts of strange folks. It’s been well-received and something that’s been on my radar for a while.

You can find some thoughts on the previous act here. Hopefully the next and final act won’t take too long to come out.

Grab Kentucky Route Zero on Steam or DRM-free on the Humble Store or GOG. It’s currently 50% off on all three stores.

History, sci-fi, technology, cooking, writing and playing games are things I enjoy very much. I'm always keen to try different genres of games and discover all the gems out there.

Oh and the name doesn't mean anything but coincidentally could be pronounced as "Buttery" which suits me just fine.

is this the final act so as to start playing? or I have to wait for another act in a year?

You know my memory is not that good to remember a game after 2 years so I prefer to play it once the game is finished :D

It's also on itch.io, while we're listing stores ;)

I was overly impressed by act I/II and
decided to wait until all acts are released.

Honestly, I simply can't remember the story between tbh.

However, the game I played so far was quite linear IIRC.
It's more an interactive story than an adventure
with riddles like Monkey Island is.
... but extremely well executed and stylish to the bone. :)

There will be one more act. I am also waiting until all 5 acts are out to play the game, as I always do with episodic games. I'll buy it day 1 the final act comes out.

I loved Acts I and II, but I honestly can't remember anything that happened in III except the song. There are probably a lot of details throughout that I've forgotten as well. I don't know if I can drive myself to play IV until the last act comes out, knowing it'll probably be minimum a year before then.

Pleasantly surprised it didn't turn out to be vaporware in the end though.

My thoughts as well. I have been burned too mnay times with episodic games before. If I had bought this two yeasrs ago i'd be pretty angry right now. Really looks like something I will like, hopefully they can finish the last episode in a decent timeframe.

I've got KRZ in Humble Monthly bundle and I want to know if those episodes are free upgrades or do they need to be bought separately?

They're included once released.
