Thanks as usual to SteamDB, it seems Rocket League is making preparations for the promised Linux & SteamOS version.

Hooray!

I can't wait to get some games going, I've been wanting to try it badly ever since I first heard about it. Hopefully the wait is nearly over!

The last we heard is that it would be out before the Xbox One version next month, so I'm hoping for the end of this month.

This could easily be the next game we end up doing a tournament for after our current GRID Autosport tournament is finished, but it depends on the release date.

About the game (Official)
Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based sequel to the beloved arena classic, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars!

A futuristic Sports-Action game, Rocket League, equips players with booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly-detailed arenas. Using an advanced physics system to simulate realistic interactions, Rocket League relies on mass and momentum to give players a complete sense of intuitive control in this unbelievable, high-octane re-imagining of association football. Quoting: GuestOh, it has local co-op and single player. That changes things. I now care about this game. :3

I'd be majorly shocked and upset if it didnt have local multiplayer.
I dont recon they could do much in single player to keep it interesting though, like to learn to play and have a couple of fights its good but I dont imagine anything deeper then that... maybe unlock some parts that aren't available if you only play online?

I mean I am all for being able to play games when the Internets down or back home where you're lucky if you can watch a youtube video without it buffering 10 minuets..

Can they like release it right now? Its a game I've been anticipating for a while, and I know my little brother will adore it to :)

I have RL from the time I purchase the Steam Controller, and played some time in Windows... now I'll be glad to play it on Linux/Steam Machine, and my son too :D

Holy sh*t I've been checking every day after work the SteamDB on Rocket League waiting for a sign, it's here now, and the wait is unbearable.

This game is very good on online multiplayer, but playing with friends on the couch it's even better.

I remember watching this game on twitch and being so sad it wasn't on Linux. I will be getting this within the first hour of release. I would also be very interested in being part of the tournament.
