Lutris game manager has another release out adding more spit and polish

By - | Views: 11,097

Two updates in the space of a week? You spoil us Lutris team. The open source game manager continues spitting and polishing.

While this update is on the small side, every little helps towards making it the best experience possible. It's a very handy application, one ring program to rule them all. Need to run some games with Wine, how about an Emulator, Steam? Lutris covers it all.

Here's what Lutris 0.4.23 includes:

  • Prevent monitor from quitting games that open a 2nd process
  • Run on-demand scripts from game directory
  • Tell the user what executable is expected after a failed install
  • Fix a circular import causing issues on some distributions
  • Add missing dependency for openSUSE Tumbleweed

Word on the street is that the main developer, Mathieu Comandon, is taking some time off from other things to put some full-time work into Lutris which sounds exciting.

Find the source on GitHub or head to the official site for downloads.

If you have issues, our Discord is pretty good with helping out with that.

Also, I never said it was polished, I said the added more polish - there's a difference. It has some ways to go, but going by the version number it's not hit a "stable" official release yet.

Yeah that is a bit of a lutris problem, it should let you blacklist things as to not auto-add them. I still find Lutris adding in my proton installs even after deleting them.

Quoting: GuestWell if you would use Discord there is the Lutris Team very Active and you get help fairly quick. I even did some bug hunting for them once for a few hours since there where some issues with the Lutris Runtime.
Yes, the Discord is the place to go for Lutris help, as the forums there are strangely dead.

Quoting: GuestI enabled sync with steam once a long time ago and my Lutris library is now populated with about 600+ games. The only way to delete them seems to be one at a time via the web interface or the client. There doesn't seem to be a way to mass delete games in your library :/
You could always just set it to show installed only (ctrl+H). or do you actually have 600 games installed?

I have about 100 odd games installed on steam
No normal games, just odd ones? A person of eccentric taste. :D

I'd love to get my Lutris looking like it does in your screenshot, but apparently under MATE the "Use dark theme" option doesn't work at all. The only way seems to be changing to a dark system theme and having all your windows dark.

Funny Discord and other apps with dark themes don't have that problem.

Lutris lets me easily install and run The Elder Scrolls Online, so no complaints here.

Sounds good! I've never really touched Lutris only looked a bit on their website.

Sounds pretty cool that you can play Overwatch with it with pretty good performance.

This is true, I'm officially focusing on Lutris for the next few months. As everyone can see, the project is a bit of a mess right now and it needs to be brought up to the standards of the community. This is not possible with me working another job but thankfully I have a bit saved up to last me long enough to bring Lutris is a good place!
