Minecraft updated and big update coming soon!

So for those of you still playing Minecraft or still haven't checked it out yet it's never been a better time to!

They are now regularly making updates to the game with new features and bug fixes and they now have an official bug tracker to keep up with everything.

They have released a number of updates recently (they just released 1.4.7) and here are some highlights:

Added fireworks
New boss mob
Lots of new decoration blocks (one thing I think Minecraft still needs more of!)
Enchantable books
Masses of bug fixes thanks to their new proper bug tracker, the game is more stable than it ever used to be

Still to come is the "Redstone Update" which you can expect hopefully towards the end of this month which is a big content update

Faster rendering engine
Better inventory management
More predictable redstone behaviour
New blocks - block of redstone (finally!), a new nether ore, daylight sensor etc etc

Then past that hopefully the modding API will be done next which has been a long time coming!

They also now do weekly pre-releases as well which you can keep up with on Mojang.com Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
