More 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel' DLC Announced For Linux

More good news for those with an insatiable appetite for Borderlands, as Gearbox has announced another DLC for 'Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel' with more story, a challenge arena and new weapons. The best part of the news comes directly from Aspyr Media's blog, as they're aiming for a same-day release for Linux on 16th December.

QuoteToday Gearbox Software announced the impending release of the latest DLC for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, called the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught. We’re here to confirm that the content will be arriving on the Mac and Linux on the same date as Windows PC, December 16!

According to the blog post this will also bring the Linux and Mac versions back in sync with the Windows version, meaning cross-platform multiplayer with Windows users will now be possible for anyone with friends on Windows.

There's also a synopsis of the original announcement from Gearbox Software included in the post:

QuoteThis add-on pack features all-new narrative content including appearances from veteran Vault Hunters Gaige and Axton, who recently returned to the Crimson Raiders HQ. While they were gone on a mission, they missed out on the events of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and ask Athena to recount the story. Since they’re not the most patient badass Vault Hunters on Pandora, they just want an abbreviated version – only the juicy, violent stuff.

As Athena tells the tale, you’ll play through The Holodome Onslaught, a new challenge arena where you’ll fight wave after wave of foes, including some of The Pre-Sequel’s most memorable badasses as well as several new enemies. You’ll also be able to earn new weapons, new class mods, and some radical new heads and skins.

As bonus content, this add-on pack also includes the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack, which raises the level cap to 60, giving each of your characters 10 new levels, plus 10 new skill points to earn!

If you already own the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass this DLC will be added to the game with no extra charge. Otherwise it will be possible to buy for $9.99, or the equivalent in your currency, on release 16th December. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It will be bought, eventually. But I got a main campaign to beat first! And Borderlands 2 DLCs to beat before that again!

(Yes I am *wading* in Borderlands content atm. What a wonderful situation to be in. :) )

Exactly the same here with me Beamboom :D

I'm only level 44 on True Vault Hunter mode and have only played one of the DLC as of now. I will eventually get around to the Pre-Sequel, probably when Borderlands 3 is out

p.s. I absolutely love this game!

I've been playing with Windows users for a long time. Since when could we not?
