NeuroVoider has probably one of the most amusing license agreements around, and the game looks great too. It's a slick new twin-stick shooter RPG, and the developer sent me a key.

Here's the best EULA ever:

What's not to like about customizable killer robots? Oh you need more to go on? Okay.

NeuroVoider is at an early stage of development, but I have found it to be a really fun game to blast through in short sessions.

How to compare it easily? Like Nuclear Throne and other procedural shooters, with killer robots, a killer soundtrack and lots of loot.

There's tons of loot to find, lots of different combinations to equip to suit your very own play-style. Personally I like the long range weapons, to do as much damage as I can from as far away as I can.

It has everything I like in a game: Great soundtrack (seriously, it's flipping awesome!), customization, action and some nice procedural content. Honestly, it reminds me of some older Amiga games I used to play.

The loot system is great. At the start you pick a specific class of robot, with the skills you like and so on. Once you get going, you can switch class if you have each part you need for the full robot in that class, and that's awesome.

One thing I do hope to see, is more animations on each robot as they can feel a little bit static. There also doesn't seem to be a save system yet, so be warned you will need to play until you die, win or quit.

You can see their roadmap here, looking good. The additional enemy AI types will certainly be welcome, as will save/resume.

I am seriously going to be keeping my eye on this one. I will try to keep looking at it over its development.

Issues
Currently it seems Steam Controller only partially works, and not very well.

Check out NeuroVoider on Steam now.

Definitely the best local four-player co-op twin-stick shooter roguelike for Linux on the market at the moment.

They're very responsive to user feedback (been playing it since pre-early-access).

If you like this genre, buy it now.

Addendum: Steam Controller support is currently broken.

Looks pretty cool, and local co-op is a great feature.
