Thanks to Steam leaking it early (and now it's been taken down), it's basically confirmed that Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary is a new DLC coming to Borderlands 2.

From the Steam page description:

Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault's map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet

Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.

Thankfully, you can't hide much from SteamDB which shows the name and details being removed to get it hidden on Steam. This showed a release date of June 9th, although that may have been a placeholder.

The big collection of Borderlands 2 plus a load of DLC and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is currently on a ridiculous price on Steam. So if you're still on the fence, this is probably the best deal you're going to get.

For the Linux version, we're still a little bit behind. Aspyr Media did the Linux (and Mac) ports and we're currently waiting on an update to the game to support the newer Ultra HD Texture Pack. Aspyr Media confirmed they're on the case but no update to share at the moment. Hopefully they will have it all ready in time for Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary.

Thanks, ResetEra.

This must be played! One of the very best coop games available on Linux.

Quoting: GuestLooking forward to this! Also to BL3, despite the asshole move made.

What move was that?

Making it Epic store exclusive, presumably.

Yeah, this is very unexpected considering they're making BL3. BL2 was released in 2012, 7 years ago, and they STILL make DLCs! That's a Paradox level of dedication I admit. Hopefully it will be ported/whitelisted (aren't DLCs just content by definition? They shouldn't need porting technically) by Aspyr shortly.

It all depends if the base game needs updating to accommodate any new possible features. Since we're already behind on patches, it might not work unless Aspyr get the update out first.

Quite possibly my favourite game ever. Ever. I'll get this at full price if it's native, in which case I need to dive back in and get reacquainted ^_^

Tired of waiting on Aspyr, I installed the Win version to play on Proton in anticipation---based entirely on rumours---of this DLC. I usually don't mind the way Linux releases come out (much) later than Windows, but not when we're talking about the Borderlands franchise.

This might explain the high definition textures DLC delay. Aspyr sure knew this story DLC is in the works so they might've waited to update the base game and push all this in one go.

I'm fully expecting that to be the case.

Epic exclusive

Quote]In any case, Borderlands 3 hits the Epic Games Store on September 13th and will later find its way to Steam in April of 2020.

Bah - a few months later. Care.
What's new? As Linux gamers we're USED To get things a few months later anyways :D I really don't care.
Let's just treat the Steam date as the official release date and get on with our lives. All is fine as long as the game is good. I'm ready!

Quoting: GuestNope, they sold out and are giving the finger to a huge amount of gamers on Steam. Not easily to be forgotten.
And it is a whole eight months later. That's a total disservice to fans of this game. It's not just about Linux. It's about steam on windows and linux.

Oh well, the most eager Windows gamers can just make an account at Epic. Many already have one.

But the game doesn't run out of date, that's the point I try to make here. We're still getting it. I mean, it's not like no other games are released in the meantime. There's plenty to play!

I just don't get this urge to INSTANTLY crave whatever is released, and that waiting some months somehow deteriorates the whole experience. A lot of games are first released on consoles with PC version a year or even two (GTA) later. For some that is a problem too. Calm down. Plenty of games.
Or how about TV series being launched at different dates in different regions. A lot are furious about that too. Like, chill the fuck down guys!

I mean, I can understand wanting to avoid spoilers or something, but really. Some are taking this way too serious. It's like a personal insult if they can't get <insert release here> the same SECOND as everyone else.

There's PLENTY of games. And this is just a spare time activity. Nobody's life are at stake here. You'll get'em. They will come.

And as long as they indeed will come, then all is good in my book.
