Nuclear Throne is something of a dark horse, it doesn't look like much, but damn is it good when you get into it.

This latest update has made it all that more interesting to go back and play, as it has added a weekly challenge map that's the same for everyone. It comes complete with scoreboards, so it's time to show off how good you are.

That's not the only change, in fact this latest version has a massive changelog for you to look over.

I just tried the current daily, and failed miserably. I forget just how great this game actually is, and it's a real pleasure to have it on Linux.

Sadly, it isn't yet working with my Logitech F310 gamepad, but I have reported it in the hopes they get to it. Their gamepad support is reasonably new though, so I imagine it will be worked on some more. The game is quite fast paced anyway, so I'm not sure how well a traditional gamepad would do.

About the game
Nuclear Throne is Vlambeers latest action roguelike-like about mutants fighting their way through a post-apocalyptic world. The radioactive waste in the world allows mutants to get ahead by mutating new limbs on the fly, the abundant availability of powerful weaponry make the quest to become ruler of the Wasteland one frought with peril.

You can find Nuclear Throne on Steam. It's still in Early Access though, so beware of the bugs. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
