I had honestly never heard of either, but they both look pretty damn fun.
It's quite hard to find official trailers and gameplay of older games, but here's a bit of gameplay from Overlord:

I have them! Finished the first one and really liked it. I started the second one but didn't finish as I completely abandoned the other platform. I even caught myself sorry sometimes for not being able to play the second to its end... I'm really happy with the news!

I brought these games ages ago, and they work perfectly under Wine - better than some native games. The port should be fine.

And, Another Game I bought in my dual-boot days is coming to Linux. I haven't played Overlord 2, but I did like the first one. Perhaps it'll be at some huge discount for both on release.
I'm also pretty happy with VP's wrapper for The Witcher 2, which I know is heresy for some people.

Also the fact it was a wrapper was really obvious because of the numerous bugs and poor performance showcased by the port. Now everything runs almost native speed, and I recently bought Bioshock Infinite which uses the same wrapper. Now, I'd say that a wrapper port is better than no port, but still, some native ports still run much better than this.

For games like Overlord 1 & 2 it will be just fine. ;)

Well.. Deadfall Adventures is a Native port and its performance sucks: Everytime I load the game it takes minutes to load and it makes my machine crash very often... The first time I thought it was a wrapped game, but no, is native.... a bad native port.
Meanwhile, Bioshock Infinite, a wrapped game (that uses the same engine, UE3) runs beautifully on the same machine... The first time, I thought it was 100% native... But no, is just a job well done..

wooah.. those games are pretty neat. i played them in wine some years ago, worked mostly fine but performance was pretty bad back in the days.

I can't get Overlord 2 or Fellowship of evle to run via wine and Overlord has mouse issues. Kubuntu 15.04 64bit,. NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730, driver = 346.96 which is the recommended binary driver. I couldn't belive a game as old as Overlord would ever be ported. Overlord II maybe. Overlord:fellowship of evil, I was prety sure would be since it came out when Stem iss leading the port to Linux charge. O my mouse is a Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000. The batteries were replaced recently.
