Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell and Overlord II are all now available on Steam for Linux. Overlord II is also a brand new port today!

Note: You may have issues if you previously purchased them from bundles and other random stores. VP has reached out to Codemasters to add Linux to them. If you're only buying it now, you will be fine.

You can see my previous thoughts on Overlord and Overlord: Raising Hell in my previous article here.

I think Overlord + Overlord: Raising Hell are well worth the money and Virtual Programming did a cracking good job on them.

As for Overlord II, it's a brand new port! I had even shorter notice than last time being told only on the day it's released. So you will have to wait until later tonight for any thoughts on it. In future I'm sure I will get more time to cover VP's ports properly. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

you're too fast, just see steamdb updates.
I was keeping my humble bunddle keys for that moment.

I've played Both Overlord titles extensively on Windows & while Overlord II isn't as good as the first one it's still well worth having, I bet there'll be complaints on here about the baby seals though. ;)

I'm getting the old "missing executable" error on all of them at the moment, so they're not quite there yet, hopefully within the next few hours they'll be playable.

Yep, it appeared in my library after buying it in 2011(!).

Whoops! The dreaded "missing executable"...

Aaaaand . . . nope.

A ~120MB download for the first OL, followed by a missing executable.. not so unexpected considering the vp installer size was ~2GB..

Also 0b downloads when trying the other 2.

Don't buy from Steam (yet)..

Edit: Just to be clear, I bought the classic pack for $20 like half an hour before posting, AFTER it had a SteamOS icon added. Also, still nothing but if something changes, I will edit this as soon as I notice.

Edit 2: Overlord 1 is working now, gamepad support included.. Didn't have time to try the 2nd, but it was also downloading 2GB so I assume it's also working fine.. Kudos to VP for a very good and stable port!

New Steam sales are not affected and will download. So no need to hold off.

Ah that would explain it, I bought Overlord on disc back in 2007.

the game does not work on MESA Radeonsi, you'll need fglrx or amdgpu-pro in order to play it.
