For those of you after a bit of fun with your friends either locally or online, you might want to take a look at 'Marooners' [Steam, Official Site], which recently gained a big free expansion.

Here's a quick trailer that announced the free content:

This fresh update adds in some bots to both offline and online play, new arenas, new weapons and plenty more. One feature in particular might be quite nice, as they now allow you to play a single game mode, instead of it constantly changing.

I think party games are really awesome, especially for those of you actually using SteamOS like a living room machine, these types of games can end up being essential when you have friends over. The fact that it has online support too, makes this a solid one to look at.

For £9.99, it's reasonably priced too.

Thanks for the tip Predcnh!

The game was fun for a few days but after a while there were no players online and you simply couldn't play any more. Might check it out again at some point but I'm too deep into Long War 2 right now.

I just tried it, and there's 0 people online regardless of settings or zone... shame. It is good fun tho, so if you have friends to play with locally it's indeed worth giving a look. Works great over Steam Link with all manner of controllers as well.

The problem for me is that I think it needs more levels and just... something more, to keep playing it more than a few days. Gets repetitive.

I play it with my kids. I never even thought about going online.
