The Linux version is fantastic, and has worked well for a long time which has kept me pretty happy with the developers.

In their email the developers said this:
QuoteThank-you. It's taken us five years of development and three years in early access, but we have made it. Introversion Software in conjunction with every single gamer who joined in our alpha is proud to present Prison Architect V1.0

V1 contains a ton of bug fixes, escape mode, story mode, multiple languages, customisable wardens, achievements and a ton of other stuff to get you back in the warden's chair.

About the game
Build and manage a Maximum Security Prison. As the sun casts it’s early morning rays on a beautiful patch of countryside the clock starts ticking. You’ve got to crack on and build a holding cell to detain the job lot of maximum security prisoners that are trundling to your future prison on their yellow bus. As your workmen lay the last brick you don’t have a moment to let them rest as they need to get started on the first proper cell block so you can make room for the next prisoner intake. Once they’ve all got a place to lay their weary heads the fun can really start.

You can buy it direct from the developer for a DRM free build, or from Steam. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Finally! I bought this before there even was a Linux port, by accident... I just got their newsletter and didn't realize the Linux alpha wasn't yet available. I'd bought all their previous games dating back to Uplink on CD-ROM because of Linux support.

To their credit, my wait wasn't that long for a Linux version, but I avoided putting much time into it - was primarily waiting for a better machine to play on, and by the time I got that, I figured I'd best wait for 1.0. Now I've got no excuses, other than the hundreds of other games that are sitting there, mostly neglected. There are not enough hours in a day!

Been waiting for this to come out in full for a while now. This was one of the games that convinced me to stay away from Early Access - I don't want to be bored of a game before it's even finished, especially if it looks really good like this one does. Luckily I only played just over an hour in EA so get to play the finished thing :D

I got the EA version some months ago, and played for a bit, enough to see what it was, and, at the time, wasn't. Nonetheless, I haven't get back to it yet (so many games, so little time). Now I will.

Happy ending!
