Prison Architect the awesome prison building and management simulation has upgraded its finance system with the latest alpha.

It is still in alpha right now, so major game-play changes are expected with each new released. Remember to bring your bug nets too.

Major Changes
They have pretty much revamped the entire financing system in the hopes of making it less annoying, with more money and less waiting.

Another major change is they have finally updated to SDL2, this should remove many little niggles with the Linux version too!

High DPI mode for high resolutions.

Lots of bug fixes

You can grab it DRM free from them here or on Steam below:

I really hope it will come with a good(!) single-player campaign.
However, I realise that I might be the last one on earth not really tempted by the flood of sandbox games... :)

It's single player only. Campaign + sandbox. So if the game sucks then that ruins the "good" part of your hope.

Count me in ;). I’m kinda sick of the flood of “survival sandbox procedural multiplayer RPG with minecraft graphics, and zombies!” games. I want games with goals, and preferably good stories for RPGs.

Creating good campaigns is difficult, really difficult.

For most studios that means a much longer time to market or/and the need to hire experts... which costs money. This is probably the main reason you see so many sandbox-only indie titles (not saying sandbox games are bad per se). Can't remember which ones, but some studios even admitted that bit in interviews.

BTW, I bought Prison Architect a long time ago and I still hope it will shipped with a great campaign. :)

Here's a hint: Games take time, good games take even longer.

I remember the devs joking that being an Introversion game means it might take some time indeed :P
