Prisonscape Adventure/RPG Game Available For Pre-order On Linux

Prisonscape is one of the more interesting titles I've seen lately. You control a single inmate in prison and have to fight for survival.

This one has me quite excited for all the different mechanics and after watching Breaking Bad recently I have an itch to be the bad guy in a game!

If you decide to pre-order you actually get the game cheaper by ~$3 and you can pay a little extra to be in the beta and bug them with issues.

I am seriously shocked the kickstarter for these guys failed, looks like a solidly fun game. I am pleased to see them doing pre-orders and hope it works out well for them. Pre-orders can work better in some cases since the developers get instant access to the money, but it will trickle in a lot slower.

Features
-Craft makeshift weapons and other useful items out of the stuff lying around the prison
-Control the main character and his henchmen in grid and turn-based combat
-Use special attacks and defenses from the "book of dirty tricks". These attacks and defenses are based on your -character statistics and skills
-Deal and/or use drugs which give you various bonuses and disadvantages (including addiction) in the game
-Join a prison gang and start riots
-Gain (and lose) reputation by doing jobs for other inmates and guards
-Solve problems by using your intelligence and/or your muscles
-Study and train inside the prison to become proficient in many of the skills in Prisonscape, including fighting, literacy and pickpocketing
-Lose all your stuff in shakedowns or gain benefits and hindrances from various random events in the game
-Snitch to the guards about other inmates to get some nice bonuses such as better jobs, cigarettes and rec time (but don't get caught!)

About
Prisonscape is an adventure/RPG game that is taking place in prison. The player needs to survive in this harsh and violent environment. Inside you have to deal with such things as constant assaults, creating and using weapons, interacting with other prisoners and learning the trade inside the jail. The player can develop his character to be, for example, a strong, tough fighter or an intelligent, charismatic manipulator.

You can pre-order it right now on their official site.

A question for you readers, how do you feel about games like this? You are already a bad guy for being in prison and will probably get worse as the game goes on. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Errr... where did you get that ~$3 from? The minimum tier is $9, as far as I can tell.

PS: I backed this game on KS and I also don't understand why it got so few support.

I said around $3 cheaper, not that is is $3 :P. It will be higher at release.

Looks like it might be fun, but I'm not going to pay until there is some sort of product. It doesn't have to be finished, but at least something playable. It feels like you really need to pay extra to buy in early, since its $15 for beta builds, this seems backwards.

Give me something I can do something with and I'd probably be interested. Then again even though I've bought plenty of alpha games I've never contributed to a KS, so perhaps I'm just not the target audience.
