Seriously loving this revival of retro-looking first-person shooters coming out lately, with Prodeus being another that's now on Kickstarter and it does look very impressive.

The interesting thing about this one, is that I did ask on Steam back in November last year about Linux support and they said it would be for Windows. Seems they changed their mind on this, with their Kickstarter which states they are "Targeting PC platforms". Curious about their wording, I sent them a message and they replied to say this:

PC platforms includes Linux and Mac!

Surprising really to see a developer not use "PC" to simply mean Windows, it's not something we see very often. I did suggest they make it more clear but they haven't done so yet.

The campaign has until April 24th to get $52,500 and they've already got over $14,000 backed so it's looking like they should quite easily get funded. Not surprising, I think it looks fantastic. They said the campaign funding is to help bring in additional developers like artists, designers, animators, and engineers to expand the content for release.

As for the release, it's expected to enter Early Access this "fall" (which should include Linux support going by what they said) and the full release next year.

Head over to the Kickstarter here and wishlist on the Steam page.

RugalizLooks ugly, totally misses the point of pixel art.

Fully agree. That post-processing pixel grid is awful.

Ofc, it's a matter of taste.
Maybe they'll optionally offer other aesthetics too.

We have visual options for most of the things everyone is talking about. https://i.imgur.com/hVckt7J.jpg

Also, did you mean dismemberment like this? https://twitter.com/ProdeusGame/status/987835658373824512

Haha, yes. ;)

Is it possible to turn off the grid?

One of the lower-res sampling without it could be just my cup of tea.

I never played the Doom games. I did play a tiny bit of the really old Wolfenstein on my uncle's computer when I was a kid. Not sure if I'll get it since I'm mostly into story-based games these days, but the quick movement and action do look fun.

Amazing looking game without the pixelation filter. Looking forward to playing it under Linux!

They definitely got my attention. Gameplay looks promising and I actually like to visual style. The amount of blood reminds me of Brutal Doom.

Am glad there are more games coming to linux personally i grew up in the era of doom and quake so these do nothing for me. Its not a knock i just prefer games to have a solid narrative a good story can take through an average game. Now I havent played this but it looks very much like an Fps in the style of no story plenty of bang bang thats cool if its your thing its just not for me anymore.

Once they update their system requirements to include Linux support, I'll add it to my wishlist.
