Railway Empire - The Great Lakes is a new DLC out now that adds some interesting new content for the rail network sim.

Rail tycoons, its time to expand your empire into new and exciting territories. After heading south to Mexico for the first DLC, Kalypso Media is thrilled to announce that the next update for its ambitious strategy title takes players north into the wilds of Canada in Railway Empire: The Great Lakes.

Features of the DLC:

  • New scenario: Dominion Day (1860-1880) - The British North American Act
  • Map expansion: The Great Lakes region (available in Free Game and Sandbox Modes)
  • New engines: Achilles (0-4-0) and Canadian (2-8-0)
  • New tradeable goods (e.g. fur and winter clothing) and 19 new cities
  • Enhanced weather system for all northern regions in the game
  • Explore the world of Railway Empire in the exclusive night mode

In addition to this, Railway Empire was patch to version 1.5 adding in a new warehouse feature, for suppling cities more easily and some bug fixes. Great to see continued support for the Linux title, although it's a little odd for have a night mode only available from a DLC.

You can pick up the DLC from Humble Store, GOG and Steam.

lol, of course the Canadian expansion would be all about snow. Canada only exists in the winter.

I might have to get one of these trains games. I have 0. The graphics in this one are purdy.

I'm looking at getting this one too... I'm waiting for it to go on sale; I was unsure about the title during the last steam sale. Right now I am wondering if Humble will have a "end of summer" sale around labor day weekend like they did last year.
