I played the demo and I was massively impressed, so impressed that I would very much like to cover the game properly. So I will be reaching out to the developer for a key.
I'm not able to fully recommend it, since I haven't played the full game yet. Going by the demo though, it was very impressive. A great Commandos-like game to have on Linux and it looks gorgeous too.
About the game
Shadow Tactics is a hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period.
Take control of a team of deadly specialists and sneak in the shadows between dozens of enemies. Choose your approach when infiltrating mighty castles, snowy mountain monasteries or hidden forest camps. Set traps, poison your opponents or completely avoid enemy contact.
The group is composed of very different personalities. Working together as a team seems impossible at first. Yet over the course of many missions, trust is won and friendships are made. I wonder if anyone's made a game called "The Shotgun of the Shogun", or "The Shogun's Shotgun", or "Shotguns & Shoguns", or "Shotgun Shogun Showdown".

I've only played it for a little bit as well, yet I too feel pretty impressed by what I've seen so far; fast loading times, pretty graphics, lots of stealth & ninja-stuff to get into and the option to have all the audio in either japanese or english. (japanese voices provides the proper atmosphere, or so I feel)

GOG has the Linux version of the full game but not the demo. I downloaded the demo on Steam. It's weird but having the full game DRM free is more important than the demo if I have to choose.

I was a little bit disappointed to find out, that GOG does not have the latest version (1.1.1 vs 1.1.2). I hope there's not a huge delay in the future!

How do DRM free games on Steam work ? When you click Install does it still download the install executable that can be copied to an external ? Do I still need the Steam client to install at a later date ?
