Put the pitchforks down and stop flipping tables, as it seems Shadow Warrior 2 [Official Site] should still be coming to Linux.

Previously we mentioned that a developer at Flying Wild Hog said "Linux version - no, I don't think so.", but we now have a different answer:
QuotePaweł is our level designer and didn't know about our target platforms.

And then:
QuoteOh, it's just a standard issue when people without PR training (like me or Paweł) answer questions. We try very hard to be helpful and answer everything even if we don't the answer. After first s....storm we learn to not to answer questions for which we don't have an answer :).

That reply is from the same person who originally said that Linux wouldn't be a day-1 release due to a decision from the publisher. The publisher denied it and then that post was deleted.

I get that some people may not be entirely aware of Linux, but developers need to be a bit more careful when giving answers. It does still surprise me that people "without PR training" seem to be so confused about Linux. It's okay to say you don't know. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Well I'm sure they don't mind the PR remembering them - sales of their game no doubt go up when they hit 100's of news sites and people take two seconds and are like "oh, remember X" - "oh yeah what's going on with X?"

Much like how lots of video game information or trailers are "leaked" these days - lol.

Game level designers are not the sort of people to get platform news from, Liam.

You need engine devs for that. Or porters.
Why is some guy who hauls baggage supposed to know what's going on? ;)
If I was working at a game developer, I would still expect a level designer to at least know the platforms it was being released on, I mean why wouldn't they know unless the company is tight lipped to employees about such things?

Linux is an unusual platform for game companies because it isn't "owned" by anyone. At least not a corporation who is pushing developers for content. Sure, Valve has an interest in Linux but most of their business isn't Linux. You won't see huge billboards with "Linux" all over them. Yet. Lol.

Kind of related, they say DRM is a waste of time. If and when this Linux port materializes, I kind of want to throw money at them just because they're finally getting it. :P

I really hope this is true. I bought the first one largely because it had Linux support and I enjoyed the 3drealms version back in the day.

They keep their level designers/makers chained to desks in the cellar and uninformed. I thought you knew this?

That is because they are one the few DEVS who respect the users....
..That's why they have my respects and that's why I pre purchased the game on GOG! :)
