Ravenfield [Steam] is a very cool single-player FPS that has regular decent content updates and this latest update is rather sweet.

It uses the Steam Workshop, the very same system they use for one of the earlier updates that added custom modded weapon support. You go, subscribe to an item and then load the game to be able to play with it. There's already plenty available, so check them out.

I'm going to demonstrate just how silly you can now make it. How about a tractors? An X-Wing? And… a tiny tricycle? Oh yes! This might be the weirdest combination I've ever had in a video. This is absolutely not a serious video, simply showing you how amusing it can be, since you can add in basically anything you want (as long it's on the workshop, or you mod it yourself). It will be interesting in future, if the developer adds the ability to add a full mod-pack support, so you could grab a big pack of custom maps, weapons and vehicles all together. There's a lot of possibilities for this game, which is why I'm keeping an eye on it. Obviously my idiotic video above is just poking fun at what you can do, but there's a lot of charm to it.

I won't add my usual complaint about not having multiplayer—oh wait. If you're not bothered by the lack of multiplayer, do keep an eye on it. It's quite customizable and it is pretty fun, with each update making me appreciate it that little bit more. However, with custom weapons and custom vehicle support, it's literally screaming to have multiplayer.

I'm actually amazed that the bots are doing so well with the unconventional vehicles.

Well, I think the way it works is that they literally replace a certain vehicle, so they take all the statistics from it. Apart from the size of course. It is quite impressive though that it just works so well.

So what is this -- Gary's Mod meets Call of Duty?

It's bonkers enough to be interesting and look like it could be fun

.... Oh. Well never-mind then, Multiplayer is a critical feature missing for this kind of genre game IMO. Maybe their eyes will open.

Reminds me of the OLD battlefield origin game, lol.

I for one hope multiplayer is never added to this gem of a game. Doing so (especially for a small indie shop) would take considerable effort that would be better spent on making the AI better.

It would also disable the time slow-down, which is an important part of the fun.

'Screaming for multiplayer.' Nah, no thanks.

Welcome to GOL :)

I totally agree that it would be quite a task for a small team, not blind to that at all. It's my personal opinion that I would like multiplayer for it. Every time I play it I can only imagine how hilarious it would be to be facing off with/against friends and running our own server for it.

To each their own :)

Quoting: GuestI need to get off my ass and start working on a map or two as well. Most the maps in the workshop are terrible. People are going into the editor and playing with the raise and lower terrain tool then releasing it like it's some big piece of work.
Is the editor available for Linux?

Or maybe Minecraft meets Arma 3. In public Arma 3 servers there was a often repeated joke that people should be playing Minecraft, it seems someone took the joke a step further.
