So 2.75D Is A Thing, Enter Fa'el – Beyond The Gate

By - | Views: 17,470
Fa'el – Beyond The Gate – is an action/exploration adventure game inside a delightful 2.75D world filled with pixel art that bends around itself and inside out. Sure looks interesting.

It's a game currently in the very early stages on Steam's Greenlight, not actually being on greenlight itself but in the early concept area, it states it supports Linux and it looks quite different so it's worth a mention here.

The idea of it is very cool and judging by the trailer it executes it quite well with the mix of 2D and sort-of 3D in one to make 2.75D, still not sure if that's a correct term or not, but i'm rolling with it. It certainly reminds me of Fez a little by the world moving around, but it's done differently to make it fresh.

Wow, sort of like Fez meets Voxatron in an anime... I've never seen something quite like this before.  I'm liking the art-style and animation quality.  Feels like a Japanese game from what I've seen & heard, so far.

Regarding "2.75D", the term doesn't feel quite right to me, but heck, I can't think of an alternate that fits better, so yeah, I agree.  Let's go with that :-)
