BossConstructor [Steam, Official Site], an indie 2D spaceship building and battling game recently added in some free new content.

There's a new weapon, Disintegrator Beam, which can be made quite powerful with the addition of extra charger modules attached to the ship.

Weapons can now be set to auto-fire, you also automatically collect items in a sector if you defeat all the enemies.

The developer is planning two more additional free content updates, which will add more ship modules and additional gameplay mechanics. Sounds fun!

See the release notes here.

I liked the game quite a lot when I tested it a while ago, just a shame the menu isn't too clear. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Yeah, this is a great constructor game, but I agree - it's a hard game to "get into", because of weird menu options and lacklustre plot.

Even stranger - I prefer Reassembly, which has no plot to speak of at all, but focuses purely on the creation of bigger and more aggressive ships and fleet.

I still spent a fair bit of time playing this though. It's really good and great to see free content for it.
