Spaceship colony sim Space Haven looks awesome, will support Linux

By - | Views: 8,346

Space Haven from developer Bugbyte Ltd (Battlevoid: Harbinger) looks like a very interesting colony building sim with a difference. Your colony is a moving spaceship!

In a post talking about Space Haven on their official forum, they gave out some fresh details. First of all, they plan to run a Kickstarter for it early next year in February/March. They say that backers will be able to play an early build soon after the Kickstarter ends as well, which is sweet.

They also showed off a new trailer:

More about it:

Space Haven is a spaceship colony sim throwing you in charge of leading a patched-together crew of civilians in search of a new home. It’s a base building game where players must build spaceships from the ground up tile by tile, create optimal gas conditions, manage the needs and moods of their crew, encounter other space-faring groups, and explore the universe in a self-built haven among the stars.

As a huge fan of such building games, I'm glad to see more developers have a go at them. Space Haven looks quite different yet again, especially since you will be exploring using your spaceship and visuals look fantastic as well.

Their previous two titles supported Linux and they've been very clear that Space Haven will too!

For now, you can wishlist and follow it on Steam.

Quoting: PatolaWishlisted! And speaking of all things from space, Hypergate was just released.
I'm going to follow this one as well. Thanks for the Hypergate reminder. Definitely will buy that. Risky to release during a Steam Sale, though...

This game feels like FTL if it were a Space building sim. That right there makes me want to check it out.

Hmm... I don't know which looks cooler, but I'm leaning toward Starmancer. But really, they both look quite similar.

That is some lovely, lovely pixel art, palette work and design; really pulls of a nice atmosphere already!
