Not to be confused with the other popular Hitman series games, this new entry is a strategy game set in the Hitman universe. Not quite the same, but hopefully the first of more to come.

This is the first Square Enix published title to come to Linux, so I wonder how closely they will be watching up.

About the game
Hitman GO is a simple to play, but difficult to master turn-based strategy game set in a stunning interpretation of the Hitman universe. You will strategically navigate fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies and take out your target or infiltrate well-guarded locations. This award-winning, beautifully rendered diorama-style turn-based strategy game focuses on forward thinking to progress through challenging levels and stylish freeze frame environments, to challenge even the most accomplished Hitman fan.

Well, certainly not the Square Enix title I would have liked to see, but...

Hitman GO is a mobile port, but it's some start for sure.

Jeez!!! Not another turn based strategy game!!!
What is going on with all the developers these days, everyone has to create a boring turn based strategy game! Why???

I need adrenaline , I need to test my reflexes, I need pure awesome action - I cant wait for turns .... :'(

Hitman Go is a really good mobile game. I played it on my Android phone and I loved it. I'll probably scoop up Lara Croft Go at some point too. Hitman Go is a simple, yet surprisingly tricky puzzle game. It's perfect for mobile devices too as it uses swipe controls and has short bite-sized missions perfectly suited for playing while on the throne or on a bus ride or whatever. I'm sure the controls will adapt to PC just fine. That said, it's a game I have no interest in buying or playing on my Linux desktop. First, because I already own it on my phone. Second, because I'd rather play it on my phone than my desktop.

Exactly. Why would you want to play a turn based strategy when you have chess?

Quoting: GuestI’m also very sick of all these turn-based strategy games.

Well, I for one love turn based strategy games! ;)

However, having said that, I love *variety* even more. It feels like it was just a few years ago that I was desperate for tb-games and I felt like this genré was a dying breed but then came a rennaissance and a veritable flood of tb-games have arrived since then.

Now Linux has an abundance of this particular type of game, ranging from awful to fantastic. So...I must admit that I'd rather see other types of ports these days. (not counting the "fantastic" examples of the genre obviously)

Don't really know anything about this particular title though (and never played a "Hitman" game), so I'll have to do some more checking before deciding.

I think I'll have to get it. I want more Square games on Linux.

You may not like this game, I will definitely give it a try, this is still a day one Linux release from Square Enix and there isn't a MAC version yet. This means a lot, this is huge.

I thought I was being irrational when I saw the title and became angry. It seems that I'm not the only one tired of getting the weakest entry in a franchise. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the game is good. It just isn't exactly a Hitman game. I don't understand why developers port games like this first.
