Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation [GOG][Steam][Official Site] will come to Linux if Stardock see enough requests for it. The CEO of Stardock has requested to see how much interest there is.

If you don't know what it is, here's a trailer to give you an idea:

From the Steam forum, Stardock's CEO posted:
QuoteWith the Vulkan work coming to an end, we are considering the port to Linux.

If you are interested in a Linux version, please sign here.

It already has 10 pages of replies.

So if you're interested and would actually buy a copy if it gets a Linux release, head to the Steam topic to give your support.

As a massive fan of strategy titles like this, it has my full support.

Hopefully Stardock are smart enough to not do it just for the money, the game itself would be more alive with a few thousand+ extra players for the online play. We all know these types of real time strategy games aren't as popular as they once were, if they want the game to stay alive, they need the extra players. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Hhhmmmm... What the hell, Stardock??!!

1st the Linux support was promised on your roadmap for late 2016/early 2017.
Then, Linux support was pushed to sometime "in the future", expected late 2017 or even later.
Then, any mention of anything even remotely touching Linux support disappeared quietly from all your development roadmaps on Steam and your webpage and even now is not in there anywhere.

And now, a year after initial Early Access release, with originally promised Linux support, you have the guts to come back to ask the Linux community "if there is interest, we *might* port it"? Are you f*cking kidding me??!!

It is this game, which taught me not to spend my € on the promised future Linux support, cuz the developers might change their minds not to support Linux, if this suites them...
Very bad attitude, which I would expect from EA, not from Stardock...

Yeah my thoughts exactly. But it seems that opinions like this on this matter will be removed from the comments.

Yeah, my apologies for being this expressive, but when I saw the news, I got enraged.
I already supported them by buying the game when it got released on early access (with the hopes that I will get a Linux&Vulkan RTS game some day, as was promised). And of course I'm VERY glad that Stardock is willing to go this way. But they did not keep their promise; they also act as if nothing happened... So it must be stated that their behaviour is not correct and is not clean; this is what developer studios just must not do...

I remember looking at this game on Early Access and almost buying it because they said that it would come to Linux once Vulkan support was in place. At the end I decided against buying it as Stardock had, and still has, as far as I know, zero record of bringing games to Linux and only have made empty promises until now.

Why you have that game in your library already?

As i can see from your profile , you are not dual booting with Windows too. I can't get it.
Probably from a gift at somepoint, forgot I even had it. Do people really feel the need to query why I own games? Strange.

The scandal! Public linux fanatic turns out to be a closet windows user ^_~

Seriously, my guess is that it could look like you got some top-secret linux preview or beta version...
